Buzzy came to golf after a successful career as a clay target instructor and competitor. "My approach to golf is similar to the way I approach shooting. I believe in educated practice and fitted equipment." Being equipment minded to begin with, Buzzy has pursued a rigorous path of clubmaking and clubfitting certification and education that he describes as a "never ending project". He is an active clubmaker in the AGCP, a member of the Golf Clubmakers Association, and is certified by Henry-Griffitts and Titleist as a clubfitter. Buzzy is a GSEM Authorized Instructor of the Golfing Machine.
Rob Noel points out how important it is for a clubfitter to understand the golf swing: "Our philosophy as far as fitting is concerned is unless you can teach, you really can't fit. Buzzy, even though he specializes in clubfitting, is an authorized teacher, as are all of our instructors. It is imperative that the fitter has a clear understanding of the golf swing and can recognize compensations when fitting clubs."
